Refurbished road signs
Container placement
Via van Dalen places recycled plastic containers at clients’ sites to collect the circularly reusable traffic signs.
The containers serve for damage-free storage and transportation of the circular old road signs.
Collection & transportation
Periodically, containers are collected by electric buses.
Selection procedure
Circularly reusable traffic signs are checked in Eemnes for damage and reuse. Selection by degree of damage.
Reuse ready
The circularly reusable traffic sign with minimal damage, is stored in our warehouse until the client’s call.
Re-Sign
Suitable road signs with more than minimal damage, are cleaned and stripped of the old signface in an environmentally responsible manner.
Before the new film is applied to the sign, the front is first given a fresh, colored edge with water-based varnish. Then the sign is coated with durable new foil, making it look like new again. The sign is then thoroughly inspected to current standards, prepared for shipment and transported to the municipality.
Refurbishing
When ordering refurbished traffic signs, each sign is cleaned and receives a new reflective image area (signface) on the front and a production sticker on the back with the production date, supplier and our recycle logo.
By keeping the old image surface (signface), we avoid new waste streams, resulting in the lowest CO2 emissions and MKI value of refurbished traffic signs. The sign is then thoroughly inspected according to applicable standards, prepared for shipment and transported to the municipality or returned to the municipality by our assembly service.
About us
Climate Signs was founded to develop sustainable, circular and innovative traffic signs and other street and city furniture for municipalities and provinces. With our innovations we are in the middle of a current social debate focused on sustainability but especially on concrete solutions. In the field of signage (traffic signs) and other street and city furniture, we create sustainable added value, which we link to a digital online GIS platform.
